REPs Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer with over 25 years experience. Over the years I have worked with all age groups and abilities of Clients and believe that anyone can make changes no matter what their level of perceived ability, disability or motivation is currently at.
Apart from the usual requirements of Clients, other motivators for weight loss may be for health reasons, offshore medical requirements, or to reduce stress in joints due to Arthritis. Differing health related conditions may range from Diabetes, Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol and risk of Stroke. Working to reduce excess weight and bodyfat, along with reducing levels of Bad Cholesterol and improving Body Composition can go a long way to alleviating risk of such.
Stresses of modern life can result in Anxiety, Depression and subsequently result in unhealthy coping mechanisms. Regular exercise is said to be great help in promoting self confidence and the ability to cope on a daily basis. Sometimes if this is the case, motivation can be a big issue. One of the advantages of using a Personal Trainer is the accountability for attending appointments and therefore establishing and promoting a routine of physical activity, which is so important for an individuals overall wellbeing. "I started training with Michelle in 2012 in advance of a ski expedition in 2013. From the outset with the initial assessment session, objective setting and diet advice you get from Michelle you know that the training is just going to be done professionally. For training to be successful you have to make the commitment and you will get the commitment and motivation from Michelle. No Fads or buzz words/fashions just sensible advice and guidance (making sure form is right to avoid injuries) and a good push to go further when it gets tough (no – no scary drill sergeant tactics either) Training is always varied, a mix of weight lifting, machines and floor exercises but always focused on objectives and taking into account any aches or pains you might be carrying. The sessions are tough but they pay off. The ski expedition in 2013 was tough but it would have been tougher without the training. I have kept up the training with Michelle for subsequent trips and just maintenance of fitness. For training to be successful you have to make the commitment and having a trainer means no excuses.
