We picked Les Amis as we had a SPREE voucher which entitled us to money of our meal. After checking out their website to see the menu's we booked for a saturday night. The premises were presentable from the outside. Inside is a small but adequate dining area with around 15 tables and 2 small booths off the main dining area. On our arrival we were met by the waitress and given a choice of tables. The menu arrived promptly and there were also 5 fish specials - one available as a starter or main course on a chalkboard. We settled on Smoked Duck starter from the main menu and Crab Nicoise from the special menu. Both arrived accompanied by garlic baguettes. The helpings were generous and well presented. Main courses were Fillet steak with peppercorn sauce and Monkfish with creamy smoked salmon sauce. Both were accompanied by mashed potatoes creamed with herbs and fennel & fresh vegetables. The monkfish also came with a risotto rice accompaniment. Servings were again generous and the steak and monkfish were cooked nicely. Sweet was a raspberry sorbet from the specials board. Throughout, the staff were attentive with the manager putting in regular appearances and the chef also spoke to every table. Total bill including 2 large glasses of house wine and 2 coffees was £64.
